Stress Less with Self-Care

Managing stress can have a big impact on mental health, but it takes time and patience to learn what works for you. That’s where self-care goals come in! Setting your own self-care goals can help you identify your stressors and improve your day-to-day life. Don’t know where to start? Check out these four self-care tips.

Make time for yourself

With so much to do and so little time, it can feel overwhelming trying to fit everything into a busy day. Try scheduling a set time or day of the week to do just the things you enjoy. Tap “Do not disturb” on your phone and dive into a good book, show, recipe, or whatever else makes you happy.

Try something new

While you’re making changes, why not try something new? It could be a new recipe or restaurant, hobby, beauty regimen, sport – the options are endless, and who knows? You might find a new favorite activity that helps you relax after a busy day.

If you’re bored of your usual fitness routine, hit up Volée! This local fitness center uses silk hammocks to help stretch and strengthen your body while promoting mind/body awareness. With classes for all fitness levels for everyone ages 5 and up, it’s the perfect place to hang out – literally.

Keep a daily gratitude journal

Sometimes we forget to appreciate the little things. Journaling can help you practice mindfulness and identify what things are stressing you out. Try listing three positive things about your day every day – this can help you learn what does (or doesn’t) need to change in your life.

Do what works for you

Everyone has different needs, and what works for others may not work for you – that’s okay! Self-care is all about improving your life and wellbeing. The key to helping yourself is to remember why you’re setting these goals and adjusting them to achieve this purpose.
